Congratulations to Eillish Satchell
Te Ārai member, PhD candidate and HRC Māori Health Clinical Research Training Fellow Eillish Satchell wowed attendees at the Australasian College of Paramedicine Conference in Brisbane last week with her powerful and polished presentation and took home the Research Plenary Presentation Award! 🏆✨
As part of her prize, Eillish has been invited to present at the EMS 999 Conference in the UK in 2026. This invitation includes complimentary registration for both days of the conference, attendance at the conference dinner, and return flights and accommodation covered by the Australasian College of Paramedicine.
Her presentation shared findings from her PhD research, which explores the emergency services care experiences of bereaved whānau in Aotearoa.
Eillish has other outputs from her PhD currently under review, and with a growing body of Te Ārai research focused on death, dying and bereavement in emergency care, we’ve created a resource page linking to all our paramedic and EMS resources.
Eillish’s proud PhD supervisors are: Natalie Anderson, Merryn Gott & Tess Moeke-Maxwell
